We write to you today with urgency and purpose. At Hemp Gaia, we’ve built our business on integrity, transparency, and love for the plant. We believe in responsible hemp retail—rooted in science, compliance, and care for our customers and our community.
But right now, the Texas hemp industry is facing its greatest threat yet.
On Tuesday, Senate Bill 3 (SB3) will go before the Texas House. If passed—alongside House Bill 28 (HB28)—these poorly written, dangerously broad bills will devastate the legal hemp market across our state.
What’s at stake?
These bills would ban products that are legal under federal law and already regulated by the state. They would eliminate access to hemp-derived wellness products used by veterans, caregivers, patients, and everyday Texans. They would destroy small businesses like ours—and hurt local farmers, retailers, and thousands of workers who’ve done everything right.
This is not smart regulation. It’s a sweeping overreach that ignores the science, disregards due process, and punishes the responsible businesses that have led with compliance.

Organizations like CRAFT (Cannabis Retailers Alliance for Texas) are working hard behind the scenes to create real, enforceable standards that work for Texas—not against it. Hemp businesses like ours are not afraid of regulation. We welcome it. But what we need is good policy, not political panic.
